(TRINIDAD, Colo.) – It was a great home stand for the Trinidad State Junior College softball team this past week as they defeated North Platte Community College 14-4 and 15-7, then swept Luna Community College 11-3 and 11-4. Freshmen pitchers Breelyn Craig and Mariah McDermott each picked up a pair of wins in the circle.
In the four-game sweep the Lady Trojans had 58 hits and 11 home runs to increase their season total to 36. Sophomores Isabella Navarro, Olivia Muniz, Megan Cosslett, Vanessa Rodarte and Chelsey Runyon, along with freshmen Katie Glaze and Alyssa McWilliams all went yard in the series.
TSJC (10-7) is hitting .407 as a team and have scored 152 runs this season. They will next be in action March 4 and 5 when they travel to Kansas to play Seward Community College and Garden City Community College. The next home games for the Lady Trojans will be a doubleheader on March 11 against Colby Community College.
